Logistics – IMI Logistics Limited
Being the largest trailer and trucks manufacturer in the country, the IPI group decided to start a logistics division 7 years ago.
IMI Logistics Limited is a subsidiary under the IPI group of companies. IMI Logistics is engaged in the provision of haulage, warehousing, cargo-ing and logistics services. The company offers Full-Truckload (FTL), Less-than-truckload (LTL), Flat bed, Intermodal and Specialty freight shipping options to both domestic and international clients.
IMI Logistics’ transportation networks allow the company to manage regional and long-haul truck shipments.
IMI Logistics Limited provides logistics management and services to specialized industries and bulk traders in the Construction, Power, Oil and Gas – Midstream and Downstream, Agriculture, FCMG industries and for on project haulage. The company also offers services such as transportation management, project logistics and consultancy on logistics solutions. The operating fleet is now 150 units strong and the group is growing this company aggressively. The company is targeting a fleet of 1,000 units by 2022.
The company’s clientele base includes Flour Mills Nigeria, Chivita, UAC, Vista, Abinbev, Chikki Foods, TGI, PowerGas, Green Fuel Limited, etc.
Warehousing Network
Since inception, the IPI group has been acquiring land in Nigeria. The group took a decision 10 years ago to build a network of warehouses across the nation. In each location, safety standards meet ISO 9001 requirements, and warehouses are also fitted with cold rooms in several locations.
Food & Beverage and FMCG companies use IPI warehouses to store inventory and distribute their goods across various locations.
IPI has recently acquired 55 hectares of land (connected by gas lines to reduce energy costs) on the Ibadan/Lagos expressway.
Over the next 3 years, the company intends to build a state of the art manufacturing plant and also its largest warehouse there.
Paints Division- Freemont Global Structures Limited
Over the years, IPI group’s consumption of paints was increasing dramatically. The group, therefore, decided to go for vertical integration by creating its own paint company in 2008 by the name of ‘Freemont Global Structures Limited’ with its own manufacturing facility located at IPI compound, Onile Wura street, Off College bus stop, Opposite Adetokunbo Estate, Ikotun, Lagos
The company is registered with NAFDAC and is a member of the Paints Manufacturers Association of Nigeria.
The Company is majorly into the production of Paints and Lacquer branded as ‘EVERRLASTT’
Freemont produces paints for the decorative, automotive, building & construction, industrial, and the marine sectors of Nigeria. The company also produces protective paints, wood finishes, powder, and auto coatings. All paints are manufactured under the brand name of ‘EVERRLASTT’
The company not only manufactures and supplies paints but also undertakes painting and refurbishments jobs on contract for various customers.
The Company’s loyal customers include Sinoma International, Cappa & d’Alberto, Dangote Sugar Refinery, Julius Berger plc, American International School, Vita Construction Company Ltd, etc.
Chemicals Division – Momentum Chemicals Limited
The IPI group forayed into Speciality Chemicals distribution in Nigeria in the year 2019 by setting up a new Chemicals company by the name of Momentum Chemicals Limited. Momentum Chemicals was awarded the distributorship of Speciality chemicals in 2019 by NCS Resin of South Africa, one of the largest Resin manufacturers in the world, and the company took over the operations of Ferro NCS Resins Nigeria Limited, their erstwhile distributor for the last 20 years. Although now a completely independent company, Momentum Chemicals Limited has full access to Ferro Corporation’s products and technology – through technical and distribution agreements.
Momentum Chemicals is a technology-based performance chemical and materials Company. The company has exclusive technical and distribution partnerships with numerous well-respected global brands. Momentum Chemicals prides itself in having an experienced technical and management team and is the market leader in many niche markets. It is strong technically and has access to numerous international laboratories and technical support assistance
Momentum Chemicals imports, stocks and distributes high-quality unsaturated polyester resins (accessories and ancillaries), coating resins, solvent-based resins, water-based polymeric dispersions, plastic master batches, thermo setting powder coatings, glass coatings and decorating products and other specialty and commodity chemicals in Nigeria.
Recycling Plant
In 2011, IPI set-up Petra Rubber Co., a joint venture with Lagos State to recycle old tires.
It is the only tire recycling plant in Nigeria. This is a closed-loop environmental project with a public-private partnership. Lagos state collects used tires which are left on the side of the roads, further cleaning the streets.
Petra Rubber processes the used tires and shreds them into little particles. The iron within the tires are sold as scrap and the processed rubber is sold to bitumen plants which they use to build roads and sidewalks.
Trading
IPI has a trading division which deals in electrodes, axles, steel materials, automobile parts such as break linings, batteries, etc.
In 2016, we were approached by Victaulic, the global leader in mechanical pipe joining systems to be their exclusive agent in Nigeria.
Legacy Sports
Legacy Sports (LS) is another division and part of the IPI group, which focuses on marketing and advertising. LS is the official and exclusive agent for advertising for the La Liga in Nigeria. The division’s objective is to best represent and develop the Spanish iconic brand across Nigeria. LS also focuses on sports education and in future plans to invest in amateur and professional football in Nigeria.
